Opdrachtomschrijving:
Not all young people start their adult lives with the same opportunities, especially those in residential youth care. When leaving care, they must quickly take responsibility for housing, finances, health, and work. Many feel mentally drained, making it difficult to manage household tasks. As tasks accumulate, clutter builds up, which contribute to mental distress. How might we support these young people in maintaining an organized living environment while navigating independent adulthood?

Eindresultaat:
Moving out of residential youth care and suddenly living on your own can feel overwhelming, like being thrown into a world where everything is your responsibility at once, from working, paying bills and managing your life. On top of that, you’re suddenly expected to keep your home clean and organized, while you’re already carrying so much in your head. Homie is there during that moment.

The app helps you turn chaos into something manageable by planning household tasks around your daily life. Instead of expecting you to keep up with a fixed routine, Homie uses an energy-based approach, suggesting the right tasks at the moments you actually have the capacity for them. With gentle reminders and on-the-moment support, Homie doesn’t demand more from you, it helps you do what’s right when it fits. And as you grow more confident, Homie slowly steps back, so you’re not surviving, but learning how to truly live on your own.
